Brand Development for Tea Company “Yurt Chai Tea”
Yurt Chai Tea combines tradition and warmth into a cozy brand inspired by Central Asian yurts. The logo displays a yurt within a teacup, suggesting home and community. Each flavor, for example, Black Tea with Hibiscus & Rose, has purposely minimal, earthy-toned packaging with clear and welcoming instructions. This project was focused on telling stories through design, honoring cultural heritage and balancing a calm modern aesthetic.
Description
Yurt Chai Tea is a graphic branding project that embodies the warmth, ease, and tradition associated with Central Asian yurts. The logo features a combination of a tea cup and a yurt, capturing comfort and heritage, as well as our everyday ritual of tea. I developed packaging for two black tea blends, one that includes vanilla, the other with hibiscus and rose, with emphasis on a clean layout, warm earth tones, and legible, approachable typography. The side panels were designed to mimic a recipe card to create an active brewing experience. This project considers how storytelling to evoke a sense of connection, nostalgia, and home can be expressed in packaging design. All elements were designed in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
